First Holy Communion Celebration

This week, four young people have learned about Holy Communion with Father Nathan. On Sunday, they will be receiving Communion for the very first time. While Baptism is the only requirement to receive, some families choose to have their children instructed about Communion before becoming regular communicants. Saint Mary's offers this FHC teaching every other year as an important learning opportunity for our young people. We congratulate and welcome Polly and Brownlow Parks- Stamm and Nat and Ethan Lewis as they grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Bible Bury this Sunday, June 2 at 11:30 AM

Remember to bring your old or unwanted Bibles sometime before or on Sunday, June 2. With help from some of our young people, Nathan will bury them on the edge of our Churchyard to bless the soil and to return to the earth.

ALL Parish Pentecost Party and Parish Photo:  June 9, 9-10am

All are called to gather together between the services for a special outdoor celebration of the birth of the Church and the conclusion of another program year.  At 9:30, we will stop for our Every-Five-Years all-parish photo. Food and games and fun will be offered by Guiding RAY.

Mission Morning: Sunday, June 16, 9 am – 12 noon

Is there a better way to honor the spirit of Father's Day than spending your morning honoring all fathers with love and care for our Father's creation and fellow inhabitants?  Families and parishioners of all ages are invited to gather in the Auditorium directly following the 8am Eucharist (9ish) for a short reflection and send-off, after which we will disperse in small groups into the community for various projects appealing to every interest.  We return at 11:30 for fellowship and mid-day snacks.

This week in Guiding RAY: This Sunday we will finish up our rotation learning about the Early Church. Through a study of Acts 2:42-47, kids will discover specific ways that the early church worked together as a team.  They will learn the goal of teamwork is to love God and others, based on Luke 10:27.  We will also utilize teamwork in the Bible lesson, game, object lesson, and art project.

During our 9:30 - 10:00 formation time.  Please join us for a special Family Chapel with Fr. Nathan. Maria Belva, our new youth choir director, will be assisting Father Nathan in teaching "I want to walk as a child of the light" which will be sung during the First Communion this Sunday.  All are welcome!

Middle School Youth Group: Meets today at 10 AM in the youth room. All kids in grades 5-8 are welcome to join us as we continue learning forms and prayers from The Book of Common Prayer and creating our own.
