Saint Mary’s Weekly News
for July 1, 2012 – The Fifth Sunday after Pentecost
We welcome Jim Fry to the organ bench this Sunday and thank him for sharing his gift and talent with us while Bruce has some well-deserved time off.
Please schedule Parish House use early!
Throughout much of the construction period, access to the Parish House will be limited to the Guild Room--with some availability of the Auditorium. If you need those spaces to meet, please contact Beth Shaw (781-3366) early to reserve! Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Mass on the Grass
Our Thursday evening, outdoor Eucharist has resumed. It starts at 6:00pm, and lasts around 30 minutes or so. We’ll meet on the labyrinth. Bring your own lawn chair and/or blanket.
S. Mary’s Annual Lobster Bake/BBQ and Silent Auction - August 18th
Suggestions may be: a service, a special talent to share, a themed basket, anything you may think would be desirable to others. Pease contact Jim or Betsy Stoddard at 829-2026 or call the parish office at 781-3366. Now is also the time to put a table of 8+ together. Call the parish office to reserve your table or just your own lobster before they run out!
Event starts at 4:30pm with BYO appetizers & libations with dinner served at 6pm.
Pastor Barb – Access and Schedule
Pastor Barb is now working out of the Rectory. Her office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Please use the Rectory number 619-7485 during office hours or for emergencies at any time. Pastor Barb welcomes you to the temporary Rectory office and asks that whenever possible you make appointments with her ahead of time. Pastoral appointments and other meetings may also take place at the Rectory (or in the guild room, etc.). You are welcome during office hours to knock on the front door; and if Pastor Barb is not in a meeting, on the phone, or otherwise engaged, the coffee and tea pots will be on. If you are looking for Pastor Barb and she is not at the Rectory, she may be at an off-site meeting. Beth and Beth in the Office Annex trailer will be able to advise you when she is expected back. You can also reach Pastor Barb by cell phone at 1-989-295-1300, text messages or E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Parish Office and the Volunteer room have been relocated to an office trailer in front of the Rectory. The office phone number and e-mail remain the same.
Legacy Project Update - Celebration!
Thank you to ALL who participated in Sunday's wonderful Ceremonial Groundbreaking Ceremony. Check out the July AVE and the S. Mary's website (www.smary.org) for full photo coverage of the events!
Next Up: Safety-fencing will be installed around the construction area followed by inspections from the town and, fingers crossed, the building permit issued!
Next Volume of S. Mary’s Cookbook Series: “Vegetables, Eggs, Side Dishes and Sandwiches” – the fifth in our series. Recipes can be emailed or handwritten on the forms provided in the Guild Room. If emailing, please see the form for directions so we can keep the format consistent. All recipes need to be received by early-mid October in order to have books printed and ready for Sparkles in early December. Please make this a delicious addition to our previous four books. All are available by request or at Sparkles for $10 each. With question regarding our Sparkles Fair, please call Jan Mordarski at 899-4099.
Coffee Hour Hosts NEEDED
Please sign up to host a coffee hour in the Guild Room. If you enjoy the fellowship following the service, please consider hosting one - either by yourself or with another family. It’s easy, fun and can be outside on nice Sundays in the summer. A feast is not needed - just a nibble to enjoy with the coffee that is already made for us. FMI, contact Betsy Stoddard at 829-2026 or email@example.com
Eucharistic Visitors take Holy Communion to those unable to worship with us on Sunday morning. Please contact Deacon Christine if you are aware of someone who would like a visit. The Eucharistic Visitor this week is Stan Eaton.
