The Legacy Project - Parish House Access

          Ceremonial Groundbreaking! Save the Date!!

Assuming no further unanticipated impediments, we have scheduled Sunday, June 24th at 9am for the Legacy Project Ceremonial Groundbreaking! Please plan to attend this wonderful event--to be held between the services, rain or shine! This will be a short, VERY family friendly event and we hope that all of our children will be in attendance. There will be seating for those so desiring or needing.

Another thank you to all those who helped tote, haul, move and deconstruct to prepare the parish house for the next phase.

A reminder to all that meeting rooms are very limited and you MUST reserve your meeting times with Beth Shaw in the parish office.

Discernment (Search) Committee Update

We continue to move forward with the process of finding our new rector. This week we passed another significant milestone. We have reached the point where we are inviting our semifinalist candidates to visit. The visits will last about 1 1/2 days, giving us a good chunk of time to get to know them better. The candidates meet with all of us over dinner and a simple service including a homily. Other times with the candidates may not include the entire committee because of work conflicts. Some of us will take the candidates on a tour of the area as well as a visit to the diocesan office in Portland. Our candidate pool is very qualified and experienced. We hope to complete these semifinalist visits by the end of June. Thank you for your continued prayers and words of support.

Church Office

The Parish Office and the Volunteer room have been relocated to an office trailer in front of the Rectory.  The office phone number and e-mail remain the same.

Mass on the Grass

Beginning Thursday, June 21st, our Thursday evening, outdoor Eucharist resumes.  It will start at 6:00pm, and lasts around 30 minutes or so.  We’ll meet on the labyrinth.  Bring your own lawn chair and/or blanket.

Children’s Christian Formation Fall Program Planning Discussion

Parents of children (from nursery through 6th grade) will be invited soon to discuss what you would like to have for Christian formation of youth come fall, as construction will affect space availability.  We will have an opportunity to reenvision what God is calling us to provide for our youngest Christians. All parishioners with an interest in youth Christian formation will also be welcomed to attend. We want to hear your ideas and thoughts.  Stay tuned for date, time, and place.

Pastor Barb – Access and Schedule

Pastor Barb will now be working out of the Rectory.  Her office hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Please use the Rectory number 619-7485 during office hours or for emergencies at any time.  Pastor Barb welcomes you to the temporary Rectory office and asks that whenever possible you make appointments with her ahead of time.  Pastoral appointments and other meetings may also take place at the Rectory (or in the guild room, etc.). You are welcome during office hours to knock on the front door; and if Pastor Barb is not in a meeting, on the phone, or otherwise engaged, the coffee and tea pots will be on.  If you are looking for Pastor Barb and she is not at the Rectory, she may be at an off-site meeting.  Beth and Beth in the Office Annex trailer will be able to advise you when she is expected back.  You can also reach Pastor Barb by cell phone at 1-989-295-1300, text messages or E-mail  tpicsm9@gmail.com.

Thank you, Friends at S. Mary’s

The students at Learning Works  that I work with are grateful for the huge number of fabric bags you donated.  As previously explained, Learning Works provides opportunities in Southern Maine to at-risk youth, the immigrant community and low-income families.  The refugees seeking political asylum that I teach don’t have the money for transportation so they walk miles to class or to the grocery store.  Having these bags makes those long treks much easier.  Thanks you,    Jean Wandel

Sparkles Reminder

If you are moving, downsizing or closing an estate, please think about the Sparkles Boutique as a gentle way to part with your treasures.  Distinct and beautiful things are particularly good for the sale.  If storage is a problem (we will not do the collection dates until the Fall) please call Jan Mordarski at 899-04099.

S. Mary’s Annual Lobster Bake/BBQ and Silent Auction - August 18th

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to offer an item, gift certificate or service!

Suggestions may be:  a service, a special talent to share, a themed basket, anything you may think would be desirable to others. Pease contact Jim or Betsy Stoddard at 829-2026 or call the parish office at 781-3366.

Now is also the time to put a table of 8+ together.  Call the parish office to reserve your table or just your own lobster before they run out!
