Saint Mary’s Weekly News
for May 27, 2012 – Day of Pentecost
Saying Good-bye…
The untold numbers of hours we have all spent in the administrative and “apartment” wing of the Parish House: So much laughter, so many tears, so much learned, so much shared. It is now time to say farewell to these spaces that have served us so well for so many years. Initial work begins in earnest on May 29th with asbestos abatement activity preparatory to demolition of this wing and renovation of the auditorium. Those spaces will be available to visit this weekend and then periodically during the week of June 10th. Come by to visit, remember and make your farewells. The complete timeline for the construction outlined at the Annual Meeting will be repeated in the upcoming AVE…don’t miss it!

We are transporting this furniture for storage on site at S. Mary’s on Tuesday and need a dozen volunteers to help load and unload! Please contact Jennifer Gregg (jenniferanngregg@gmail.com) if you can assist. We will meet at S. Mary’s at 9:30am. Thank you in advance!!

May they each continue to grow in God’s grace.
This Sunday we also install new acolytes
Today we are pleased to install three new acolytes at S. Mary’s. Congratulations to Celia Funk, Lauren Lamberson and Emily Stinneford.
Church Office
The Parish Office and the Volunteer room have been relocated to an office trailer in front of the Rectory. The office phone number and e-mail remain the same. When visiting the temporary office, we ask that you enter through the south door in order for Beth Shaw to have a measure of uninterrupted time during the day.
Pastor Barb’s Access and Schedule
Pastor Barb will now be working out of the Rectory. Her office hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Please use the Rectory number 619-7485 during office hours or for emergencies at any time. Pastor Barb welcomes you to the temporary Rectory office and asks that whenever possible you make appointments with her ahead of time. Pastoral appointments and other meetings may also take place at the Rectory (or in the guild room, etc.). You are welcome during office hours to knock on the front door; and if Pastor Barb is not in a meeting, on the phone, or otherwise engaged, the coffee and tea pots will be on. If you are looking for Pastor Barb and she is not at the Rectory, she may be at an off-site meeting. Beth and Beth in the Office Annex trailer will be able to advise you when she is expected back. You can also reach Pastor Barb by cell phone at 1-989-295-1300, text messages or E-mail tpicsm9@gmail.com.

The choir will sing the entire Mass in G major by Franz Schubert. This will be a fitting way for the choir to offer their final music of the season. The Schubert mass was originally meant to be part of the Eucharist service. The choir and I look forward to sharing this glorious music with you.
