Help welcome summer with our Strawberry Shortcake Coffee Hour

This Sunday morning after the ten o’clock liturgy, please join us for an “End-of-the-year shortcake feed” held on the church grounds to help Guiding RAY close out another successful and fun year teaching our children.  In case of inclement weather, we’ll go inside.

Communion Classes

Final Communion Class this Sunday 11:30 am in the Sanctuary.

Free Organ Concert by Paul Jordan - Sunday at 4:00 pm

Paul Jordan, who played at S. Mary’s last August, will present a “palindrome concert” of mostly works by J. S. Bach performed on St. Mary’s beautiful Casavant organ.  The first half of the recital will include Bach’s “Fantasy in C minor,” the Chorale-Prelude on “Allein Gott in der Höh sei Her,” the “Fugue in C minor”, a piece by Louis Hardin, Bach’s “Vater Unser im Himmelreich,” the Chorale-Fantasy “In Dir ist Freude” and in the center, the “Fantasy in C minor” (5 voices).  Then so each piece can be appreciated and enjoyed by a second hearing with different registration, the pieces will be repeated in reverse order – hence the palindrome.

Guiding RAY enters the summer break

This Sunday is the last day of Guiding RAY classes before the summer break.  We thank all the Guiding RAY teachers and parents for making this such a wonderful and enlightening year.  A huge note of gratitude to Elizabeth Heinzman for five combined years of tireless leadership to the children’s program at S. Mary’s - this last year taking on the entire program as its Director - Thank You, Elizabeth.  We look forward to prayerfully raising up a new Guiding Ray Director.   We have much to be thankful for and much to look forward to.    Guiding RAY will resume in the fall with dates and detail forthcoming.

Legacy Project…MOVING!

Looking for Pastor Barb or Beth Shaw?  They are moving in anticipation of construction!    Beginning Tuesday, May 22nd, Pastor Barb will be operating out of the Rectory; Beth Shaw and Beth Miller and the Volunteer Room will be relocating to the office trailer in front of the Rectory.  There will be no phone or internet contact for much of that day.  We hope to be back on line on by Wednesday, May 23rd .

Moving the Parish Office

If you have a free hour on Monday or Tuesday, we could use your help to pack, carry and relocate…just come on by.  There will be plenty to do.

Next Sunday we welcome new members to the Eucharistic Fellowship

Prayers for Ellie Bryant, TJ Frongillo, Samantha Heinzman, Sarah Kelly, Kyle Lamberson, Lauren Lamberson, Griffin Rhoades, & Emily Stinneford, who will all be admitted to the Eucharistic Fellowship of The Church during the 10:00 liturgy this Sunday, May 27th.  May they each continue to grow in God’s grace.

Next Sunday, May 27th  we recognize new acolytes

Following several hours of training, we are pleased to be able to install three new acolytes at S. Mary’s next week.  Those ready to serve are Celia Funk, Lauren Lamberson and Emily Stinneford.  Congratulations!  Thanks to Dan Funk for training them.

Learning Works

Do you have used backpacks or woven grocery bags you don’t need that you would be willing to donate to Learning Works, an organization that teaches English to newly-arrived immigrants.  The students would be very grateful.  They do not have money, and they walk long distances for food which they carry home in flimsy plastic sacks.  FMI call Jean Wandel 781-4940.
