Saint Mary's eNEWS for 6.19.16

Saint Mary’s Weekly News

June 19, 2016 – Fifth Sunday after Pentecost

Santo, Santo, Santo: in memory of Orlando

At our 10 AM Eucharist today, we are singing a Latino version of the Sanctus (in Spanish, of course) in memory of all those killed in Orlando, the great majority of whom were young LGBTQ Latinos. May their souls rest in peace and my God heal all the wounded.  See the end of this week’s eNEWS for music.

Portland Bach Festival: June 19 – 24

Pairing the best of Bach with the best of Portland! Featuring renowned Maine, National and International artists. Venues include Saint Mary’s, the Cathedral of Saint Luke, Ocean Gateway Terminal, and East End Community Center. Concerts at Saint Mary’s include Sunday, June 19 and Friday, June 24 – both at 7:30 PM, and a Cantata Sing-Along on Wednesday, June 22 at 6 PM. Both our own Bruce Fithian and the St. Mary Schola will be participating in this Festival. FMI: see www.portlandbachfestival.org

Mass on the Grass: Wednesdays at 6:30PM from June 29 to August 3

Away on Sundays in the summer? Gather with us on Wednesdays for an informal, outdoors Eucharist that is participatory, brief and suitable for all ages.

Bring a POTLUCK DISH to share afterward, and we’ll have lawn games (boccé, croquet, frisbee, badminton) ready for all. In case of rain, we’ll move into the Parish House.

We’ll end each MOTG with smores cooked over a campfire! Does it get any better?
