#Pledge to Pray

Sponsored by the Archbishop of Canterbury, this movement is truly ecumenical and global. What an amazing way to prepare for the celebration of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost on 4 June!

Saint Mary Schola presents:  A Musical Banquet

June 10, 7:30 PM Church of Saint Mary, Falmouth

June 11, 4:00 PM, First Church of Christ, North Conway NH

June 13, 7:30 PM, Cathedral Church of St. Luke, Portland

June 16, 7:30 PM, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Portland

The St Mary Schola’s spring concert features joyous music that will make you want to pick up your fee and dance! The golden age of Elizabethan madrigals is celebrated with lively spring songs by Thomas Morley and John Dowland. Songs by the early baroque master, Henry Purcell and enticing French ‘airs de cour’ are also included, as well as a toe tapping ‘ballo’ by Monteverdi.

The second half of the concert will feature excerpts from Christoph Willibald Glück’s masterpiece, ‘Orfeo and Euridice.’ The stormy underworld scene is filled with great drama and, of course, the famous aria, ‘che farò senz’ Euridice.’ This music is rarely performed, so this is a unique opportunity to hear the enchanting music with some of northern New England’s best singers and instrumentalists.

Memorial Service & Reception for Charlie Dayton: June 17

A celebration of Charlie’s life will be held on Saturday, June 17 at 11 AM here at Saint Mary’s.  If you can help with baked goods or the reception, please contact Elizabeth Heinzman 210-2244 or email theheinzmans@hotmail.com

Think Sparkles First … Even in Spring! Only 6 months to go…

The Sparkles Fair & Boutique is December 2. We start the Sparkles festivities with the lighting of the Kyros Memorial Tree at the Thanksgiving Eucharist on November 22 — but your Sparkles Committee is already at work.

Knitters, crocheters, and other needle workers can begin working on items for the needle work corner. FMI, call Barbara Murray.

If you are cleaning out closets, downsizing, or closing an estate, please consider donating items to the Boutique.  We take unique items, holiday decorations, family treasures, and gently used household items, but no books or rummage.  This year we are taking donations year-round, and if you need help with pick-up and/or storage, please call Onnie Hastings (878-6683), Kathy Galen (603-723-5145) or Jana Burke (272-4535).  If you drop off items at the Parish Hall, please mark them clearly for Sparkles.
