Sparkles Reminder

Next Volume of S. With question regarding our Sparkles Fair, please call Jan Mordarski at 899-4099.

Discernment (Search) Committee
We continue to move forward with the process of finding our new rector. This week we passed another significant milestone by welcoming our first semifinalist candidate to visit Saint Mary's. We anticipate bringing in several more to visit over the next few weeks and hope to complete all the semifinalist visits in July. The visits are helpful for both the committee and the candidate. Meeting at length with the candidates gives us a sense of their personality and character. It allows them to see us more clearly. The internet is a valuable resource but does not complete the entire picture. Thank you for your continued prayers and words of support.

We want to hear your ideas and thoughts.  THURSDAY, JUNE 21 at 6:45 p.m. in the Guild Room (following Mass on the Grass at 6 p.m.)

The Legacy Project - Parish House Access

          Ceremonial Groundbreaking! Save the Date!!

Assuming no further unanticipated impediments, we have scheduled Sunday, June 24th at 9am for the Legacy Project Ceremonial Groundbreaking! Please plan to attend this wonderful event--to be held between the services, rain or shine! This will be a short, VERY family friendly event and we hope that all of our children will be in attendance. There will be seating for those so desiring or needing.

Another thank you to all those who helped tote, haul, move and deconstruct to prepare the parish house for the next phase.

A reminder to all that meeting rooms are very limited and you MUST reserve your meeting times with Beth Shaw in the parish office.

Discernment (Search) Committee Update

We continue to move forward with the process of finding our new rector. This week we passed another significant milestone. We have reached the point where we are inviting our semifinalist candidates to visit. The visits will last about 1 1/2 days, giving us a good chunk of time to get to know them better. The candidates meet with all of us over dinner and a simple service including a homily. Other times with the candidates may not include the entire committee because of work conflicts. Some of us will take the candidates on a tour of the area as well as a visit to the diocesan office in Portland. Our candidate pool is very qualified and experienced. We hope to complete these semifinalist visits by the end of June. Thank you for your continued prayers and words of support.

Thank you, Friends at S. Mary’s

The students at Learning Works  that I work with are grateful for the huge number of fabric bags you donated.  As previously explained, Learning Works provides opportunities in Southern Maine to at-risk youth, the immigrant community and low-income families.  The refugees seeking political asylum that I teach don’t have the money for transportation so they walk miles to class or to the grocery store.  Having these bags makes those long treks much easier.  Thanks you,    Jean Wandel
