Saint Mary’s Weekly
News
for July 29, 2012 – The Ninth Sunday after Pentecost
Demolition of the old office/apartment/Guiding RAY wing
Demolition will take place on Tuesday, July 31st
at 9am. Come watch from a safe distance and to enjoy coffee and
doughnuts with fellow sightseers.
Guest Organist
We
welcome Jim Fry again today and thank him
for sharing his gift and talent with us.
Parish
Office Annex Parking
Because
construction vehicles will be entering and exiting S. Mary’s campus, visitors
to the Parish Office Annex (trailer) are asked to please park on Rte. 88 –– not
by the office stairs, in the rectory driveway, or on the sides of the road
leading to S. Mary's parking lot unless you have a heavy burden, are disabled
or the weather is particularly nasty. Your co-operation will be appreciated.
Mass
on the Grass
Thursday evening, outdoor Eucharist meets on the
labyrinth at 6:00 pm for a 30 minute service. Bring your own lawn chair
and/or blanket.
Weekly
Eucharist (Thursday)
The
Thursday morning Eucharist for August 2nd will be celebrated at
Ginny Stelk’s home in Yarmouth, and on Thursday, August 9th, at
Carolyn Bernier’s home in Falmouth.
Discernment
(Search) Committee
We continue to make progress in our search for a new rector. We have started the visiting process to observe the candidates in their home parishes. It's all very exciting and makes for a very busy summer for the members of the DC. Thank you for your continued prayers and support!

Pastor
Barb – Access and Schedule
Pastor Barb’s office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday through Thursday at the Rectory. To call her during office hours or for
emergencies at any time please use 619-7485. Pastor Barb welcomes you to
the temporary Rector’s office and asks that whenever possible you make
appointments with her ahead of time. If Pastor Barb is not at the
Rectory, she may be at an off-site meeting. Beth and Beth in the Office
Annex trailer will be able to advise you when she is expected back. You
can also reach Pastor Barb by cell phone at 1-989-295-1300, text messages or
E-mail tpicsm9@gmail.com.
James
F. Goodrich Funeral
The
services for James Goodrich, who died last week, will be private.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital
and/or the Portland Boy Scout Council.
Legacy
Project
The
heart-pounding process of removing the "Mother Window" for repair and
renovation is underway. We will be without this beautiful piece of art
for up to three months while The Phoenix Studio completes its work.
Meanwhile,
what a blast! The excavation of the foundation for the new office wing
and chapel is ongoing, as is the excavation of the "dry detention
basin" for water run-off (east side of the property, abutting Pine Grove
Cemetery). Watch for word of the demolition of the old office/Guiding Ray
spaces and associated festivity...perhaps next week?
Visit
Safely! Do come to watch the action, but with care. The campus
remains a "hard hat" area on week-days. If you are able, please park
on Foreside Road and walk in Monday-Friday. Thank you!
Use of Parish House–Kitchen and Guild Room Only – SCHEDULE EARLY
Effective immediately and throughout
much of the construction period, access to the Parish House will be limited to
the Guild Room and Kitchen. If you need this space to meet, please
contact Beth Shaw (781-3366) early to reserve! Thank you for your patience
and understanding.
