Saint Mary’s Weekly News
For November 15, 2015 – The Twenty-fifth Sunday after Pentecost
Intergenerational Coffee Klatch - This Sunday, 9:30am
A reminder that Guiding RAY is hosting an intergenerational coffee hour directly following Bruce Fithian's Casavant Organ presentation to which ALL parishioners are invited! We hope you will come and sit at tables with our Guiding RAY children to enjoy refreshments and exchange stories about Thanksgiving, what it means to you, your favorite memories, etc. Guiding RAY teachers will be there to facilitate conversation, as desired. Our youngest parishioners want and need to know you better!
Guiding RAY children will be making crafts to benefit the Falmouth Food Pantry, and, whether or not you are able to attend the coffee klatch, we ask ALL parishioners to bring a donation for the Falmouth Food Pantry this Sunday- a can of tuna or a bag of rice would be particularly welcome. THANK YOU!
Speaking of This Sunday morning…
Please join us for an organ tour, Sunday November 15 at 9 AM. Some of the panels of our beautiful Casavant organ will be removed and Bruce Fithian will explain how a mechanical organ works, including explanations for all ages. The majestic Bach Toccata in F major will then be played, at the conclusion of which, we can all proceed to the auditorium to meet the Guiding RAY children for their special gathering.
Celebrate Honor Serve: 2016 Stewardship Campaign
A parishioner recently mentioned that she didn't understand why pledging was so important because she felt her pledge was too small to matter. It was a great chance to illustrate the importance of pledging. If each of us commits to an amount we are able to give in 2016, we know how much revenue to expect from pledges. That number gets added to other revenue sources like fundraisers (Sparkles!) and allows us to support our programs, utilities and salaries. EVERY pledge matters!! Help us meet our goal of $265,000 for 2016!! Thank you to everyone who has turned in their pledge forms. Congratulations to Norma Jean Brilliant and to the Hagerty Family. They won our first set of prizes for turning in their completed pledge forms!
Thursday Eucharist: every Thursday in the Chapel at 12 noon
This is a beautiful, informal time to gather at the Lord’s Table with a meditation on the scriptures or the lives of the saints, time for group discussion, and prayers for healing.
Noonday Prayer: every other weekday in the Chapel
Pause for 10 minutes of prayer together. Everyone is welcome! You are also invited, wherever you may be, to STOP and PRAY with us in the Spirit at 12 noon for those in need, for our parish family, for our bishop, and for your own daily life with God.
Missing your platter or other dishes?
Saint Mary's kitchen has several items that parishioners have left behind, and we would love to return them to you! We will place them on a table in the foyer of the kitchen, so please come by to pick up by November 22nd. Any remaining items will be thankfully donated to St. Elizabeth’s after that date. Thank you!
