MULTICULTURAL FAIR: HERE, this Sunday AFTERNOON, May 5, 3-6pm

Mark your calendars! It is a festive ethnic event, and a great opportunity to do some unique shopping for family and friends. This is a special opportunity for New Mainer entrepreneurs, artisans and chefs, with artistic and culinary skills they've brought from their native countries, to promote and sell their products, services, and to introduce us to their culture. There will be jewelry, clothing, baskets, and delicious ethnic foods - from Italian desserts and pasta, to Argentinian empanadas, Syrian cuisine, Japanese miso, and more!!  Almost all vendors from last November are returning, and we have others eager to share their skills.  Souper Supper: 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month  - May 10 & 24 

Our free suppers in our Parish House Auditorium open to anyone and everyone. Please consider dropping in sometime between 5 – 7 PM on either evening for dinner served in a family-style setting and consisting of a hearty soup, salad, bread, homemade desserts and beverages. The Only Easy Day 5K or 10K:  Sat., May 18, 9am at Falmouth High School

Join Nathan+ and others in running to support the NAVY SEAL Foundation. This event is in honor of the life and sacrifice of a hometown hero, Senior Chief Kyle Milliken, who was killed in action in Somalia in May 2017. Youth Ministry

Guiding RAY (Religious Adventures for Youth)  

Our Guiding RAY programs for all young people ages 0 to 14.  We gather all together beginning at 9:30am for Formation in the lower level of the Parish House with classes beginning at 10amOur classes are designed to both appeal to and offer our children an opportunity to learn key bible stories and to develop their relationship with God.  For more information on Guiding RAY, please visit our website  www.smary.org

The Nursery opens at 9am on regular Sundays for our youngest disciples in the Guiding RAY area every Sunday morning for the later Eucharist. Please contact Megan Akers, GuidingRAY@smary.org , if you are able to assist with care. 

This week in Guiding RAY Our new rotation is all about the Baptismal Covenant. Baptism is a sign of a new life with God and during this rotation we will explore the elements of the rite of Baptism in our Episcopal tradition. We will learn about the symbols of Baptism and review our promise to God and wonder about the experience of being known to God by name.

During our 9:30 - 10:00 formation time. all are welcome to join us in Guiding RAY for a special family chapel with Fr. Nathan. Come hear the story of the Great 50 Days. Each day of the Easter season, a full 50 days, is a day to celebrate rebirth, light, resurrection, joy, and the victory of life over death.

Middle School Youth Group: Meets today at 10 AM in the youth room. All kids in grades 5-8 are welcome to join us as we continue exploring Feasts of The Church Year. We use a combination of games, lessons, and reflection to get the most out of our time together.  We hope to see you there!

Young Life of Casco Bay

Every Monday night (when school is in session) at 7:31 PM. Now meeting at The Root Cellar at 94 Washington Ave in Portland. For ALL area high school students – no one is excluded. The BEST thing happening on a Monday night – guaranteed! FMI, visit www.younglifecb.com

College Planning Landscape: A discussion for parents of younger children

Join us for an informative Common Ground on Thursday, May 9 for an informal and candid discussion about planning for college in 2019 and beyond. Specifically designed to help parents of older elementary and middle school students, this program is open to all who want a better understanding of how college planning and guidance has changed in the last decade.

The conversations will be led by Katherine Thomas, Director of College Counseling and Steve Thomas, Associate Director of College Counseling.  Parents will have an opportunity to ask questions, dispel myths, and get an understanding of what the process is today.

Mark your calendars for CascoBay CAN Table Talks:  May 30, 5-7pm 

Learn about substance abuse trends, signs of youth use, resources and practical tips to use at home and to share with others, and how to support positive choices.  Important for all ages!  More information coming. 

ADULT Formation groups:  9:30 AM on Sundays in May

Amazing Grace: The Vocabulary of Faith – meeting each Sunday in the Guild Room. Led by Deacon Christine. Join the conversation about the words we use to talk about God and faith.

Be Still and Know: Guided Meditations – meeting each Sunday in the Chapel. Led by Becky Pride, Merle Maria Troeger and Jennifer Gregg. Gather in that beautiful space to pray and explore our connection with God.

Both are open for anyone to drop in and participate on any given Sunday.

Community Care & Nurture

Chapel Eucharist: Thursdays in the Chapel at 12 noon 

This is an informal time (in a beautiful space) to gather at the Lord's Table with a meditation on the scripture or the saint of the day and prayers for healing.

Wisdom Seekers Bible Study: Tuesdays at 10:30 AM

This Bible study group meets weekly in the Guild Room. Everyone is welcome! We are now exploring each week's Gospel scriptures in depth.

Noonday Prayer: every other weekday in the Chapel 

Pause for 10 minutes of prayer together. You are also invited, wherever you may be, to STOP and PRAY with us in the Spirit at 12 noon for those in need, for our parish family, our bishop, and our own daily life with God.
