Urban Promise Pilgrimage: August 3—9, in Camden, New Jersey
Our team is preparing for this trip to Camden, NJ and Philadelphia in early August, but EVERYONE can participate in making this Pilgrimage a success! Here’s how:
1. Pray for our Pilgrims before, during and after this adventure. Pray that we can discover the presence of Christ in new and deeper ways through our time with the children of Camden. Pray for our safety in travel, and that this may be a true pilgrimage: an intentional spiritual journey to draw near to God.
2. Between now and August 3, bring school supplies to fill up backpacks for students who need help preparing for the new school year. Some supplies will also be used in the classrooms at the CamdenForward School and the UrbanPromise Academy. See the full list below!
3. Join us on FOR ONE LITURGY on Sunday, August 3 at 9 AM as we send out our team of Pilgrims on their week-long journey to Camden.
List of School Supplies for Urban Promise students and for the classrooms
· Glue sticks and hot glue sticks
· Boxes of tissues, plastic sandwich bags, napkins
· Pencils, eraser pens, micron pen sets
· Composition books, 1” 3-ring binders, spiral notebooks
· Kneaded erasers
· Calculators, rulers
· Adhesive bandages, Neosporin, hand sanitizer, safety gloves
· Sketch pads, oil pastels, premium drawing paper (12”x18”)
Summer Worship Schedule
Sunday worship will be at 8:00 and 9:30 AM (instead of 10am). There will be no Guiding RAY classes or Middlers, but there will be Nursery care all summer.
Mass On The Grass: Wednesdays at 6:30 PM. A brief, informal, outdoor Eucharist that is interactive and multi-sensory and appropriate for all ages. Bring your own lawn chair and/or blanket. If inclement weather, we’ll gather in the Chapel.
The Thursday Healing Eucharist and Wisdom Seekers will take a hiatus during the summer months. Please join us instead for Noonday Prayer in the chapel.
Buildings & Grounds Request
Does anyone have or have access to a log splitter and a 20” or longer chain saw for B & G men to cut and split downed trees on the property, so they can be used as an auction item for the upcoming Lobster Bake & Auction? If so, please contact Jim Stoddard ASAP at jbstod@myfairpoint.net or 829-2026.
