Saint Mary’s Weekly News
for September 25, 2016 – The Nineteenth Sunday after Pentecost
Organ Recital with Chris Pelonzi and Bruce Fithian:
THIS Friday, September. 23, 7 PM
We will offer a free organ recital by Christopher Pelonzi, Director of Music and Organist at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and by our own Bruce Fithian. This will be an occasion to celebrate the ongoing restoration of our beautiful Casavant organ and will feature music that is especially suitable for our rare instrument. Please come to the Souper Supper beforehand and enjoy the recital afterwards at 7pm. A free will offering will be collected. Bruce will play a beautiful Chaconne by Dietrich Buxtehude, and two Bach works, a delightful chorale prelude and the toccata in F major. Christopher will play Bach's great Toccata in C Major and other masterworks.
Next Weekend is Marathon Weekend

The Blessing of the Animals: Sunday, October 2 at 5 PM
After the Marathon (and after the Patriots’ game!), bring your animals for a blessing and a celebration of all creation on Saint Mary’s lawns. In honor of Saint Francis, we will give thanks to God for the other living beings with whom we share this earth. This is a great opportunity to invite a friend!
Nametags, please! Nametags for each Saint Marian are found in the Parish House front hallway. As a gesture of hospitality, please wear them each Sunday and speak to those who look new or lost on our campus. If your nametag seems to be missing, contact Beth in the parish office and we’ll get you one right away.

Community Care & Nurture

This Bible study group meets on Tuesdays in the Guild Room. Nadine Timberlake is the group leader. All are welcome, because there is always room for anyone who wants to study the Bible and discuss its meaning for our lives today.
Thursday Eucharist: every Thursday in the Chapel at 12 noon
This is an informal time to gather at the Lord’s Table with a meditation on the scripture or the saint of the day, time for group discussion, and prayers for healing. It usually lasts about 45 minutes. All are welcome!
Noonday Prayer: every other weekday in the Chapel
Pause for 10 minutes of prayer together. Everyone is welcome! You are also invited, wherever you may be, to STOP and PRAY with us in the Spirit at 12 noon for those in need, for our parish family, for our bishop, and for your own daily life with God.
