Saint Mary’s Weekly News
19 January 2020 – The Second Sunday after Epiphany
Time to update the Saint Mary's Members & Friends Directory
Time to update all of your data (email, cell phone, address) so we can distribute it with correct info at the Annual Meeting on January 26! The best and quickest way is to sign into Realm and update your own. If you have not yet signed in, look for a recent invitation from OnRealm or Saint Mary’s to join and we will send another soon.
If you absolutely cannot do that, please check the draft copy of names and information outside the Guild Room or at circulating at Coffee Hour. Or contact Beth in the parish office (781-3366) with any changes or updates (admin@smary.org) Please do it TODAY!

We are looking for new Bell Ringers!
Interested in joining the Saint Mary Handbell Choir? Some degree of reading music is preferable, but we chose music according to the abilities of the handbell participants. If interested, please contact Bruce Fithian at bsfithian@aol.com.
Stewardship 2020: Make a Joyful Noise
Joyful Noise - Thanks to the 78 families who have pledged. Our joyful noise is the sound of our parish staff back at work after a well-deserved break and the 2020 schedule beginning! We are not there yet. We have at least 75 households who haven’t made their pledges. Please take a moment to do so.
Serving the World
Saint Mary’s and Family Promise Join forces
Be a part of the Saint Mary’s team that will assist Falmouth Congregational Church when they house Family Promise clients 4 times a year for a week by cooking and delivering a meal for twelve to FCC. Thanks to Judith Fergin, Toosie Smith, Alice Brock, Susan Conway, and Merle Marie Troeger for jumping in to prepare the meal for January 22. Our next opportunity will be on May 3! Can you help? FMI, visit www.greaterportlandfamilypromise.org or contact Jennifer Gregg, jenniferanngregg@gmail.com
2020 Souper Bowl of Caring: show our love of neighbors
Join the Guiding RAY kids to collect many, many cans of soup! Through this mission, we will learn what it’s like to make a positive difference in the world – as we work to collect food for the hungry and gain compassion for those in need. Please give generously anytime or any day leading up to Super Bowl Sunday (February 2). Every can of soup (low-sodium preferred) we collect will be donated to the Falmouth Food Pantry, our Souper Bowl of Caring charity of choice.
Souper Supper: 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month
Free soup, salad, bread, dessert and beverage suppers, served family-style in our Parish House Auditorium; open to anyone and everyone. Join us sometime between 5 – 7 PM as a diner or volunteer to help serve. FMI, contact Jennifer Gregg (jenniferanngregg@gmail.com or 781-2665).
Guiding RAY (Religious Adventures for Youth): Sundays, 10 AM
Our Guiding RAY programs, for all young people ages 0 to 14, are designed to both appeal to and offer our children an opportunity to learn key bible stories and to develop their relationship with God. Classes for pre-K through grade 5 and IGNITE (Gr. 6-8) begin at 10am For more information on Guiding RAY, visit our website www.smary.org
We are always looking for leaders to assist with these crucial programs. Please contact Megan Akers to find out ways you can help! GuidingRAY@smary.org
The Nursery is open for our youngest parishioners every Sunday, 9 – 11:30.
Please contact Megan, GuidingRAY@smary.org, if you are able to assist with care.
This week in Guiding RAY we continue to learn about Moses and how God protects His people. God had a plan for Moses and God promised to be with him just as he promises to be with us. God said He would supply all Moses’ needs, just as He promises for us. Thank you to our leaders for this rotation, Emily and Ben Rogers, Maggie Gardner, Jill Stevenson and Heather Teng.
IGNITE - Middle School Youth Group:! Ignite meets this week! Join us at 10:00 am in the youth room for games, a lesson and fellowship. All kids in 6-8 grade are welcome and bring a friend!
Guiding SAY (Singing Adventures for Youth): Sundays, 9:35 AM Before Guiding RAY classes begin, all young people are invited to gather downstairs with our own Maria Belva for fun singing. No special skill or experience required, only a willingness to sing together FMI contact Maria at mariabelva@gmail.com
