Saint Mary’s Weekly News
January 27, 2013: The Third Sunday after the Epiphany
The Parish Office will be without phone and internet for much of the day tomorrow, Friday, January 25th as Time Warner prepares for services in the new building! Thanks for being patient with us.
How to Budget with Wisdom
January 30 at 7 PM in the Guild Room. We conclude this Wednesday with a follow-up to last week’s session, but everyone is invited to join Fr. Nathan and personal financial counselors from the parish for more discussion of biblical guidance for managing our finances, tools for developing household budgets, and ways to grow our capacity for generous giving. Every household needs to have a budget which gives priority to God’s place in our lives and to our care for the poor. Come and join the conversation.

S. Mary’s Annual Meeting
The Annual Meeting of The Church of Saint Mary the Virgin will take place on Sunday, January 27th, 2013, beginning at 10:15 in the morning. There will be one liturgy, with hymns, at 9:00, followed by a brunch and the Annual Meeting. Not only will this bring the “two congregations” together, but the meeting won’t last well into the afternoon. There will be child care and activities for kids in the undercroft; volunteers will be needed to supervise the children. If you are available to help, please e-mail Julie Morrison at jmorrison500@yahoo.com Annual Reports are now available in the Guild Room and will be emailed to all on the email mailing list.
Brunch Clean-up Help Needed
We need strong people to help with the clean-up after today’s Annual Meeting. If you can help, please plan to stay around for a little while after the meeting. A star in your crown!
A huge thank you to Anne LaFond and hospitality folks taking charge of the brunch; we couldn’t have done it without you!
No Soup Kitchen duty this Sunday, Jan 27th

Godly Play Training Opportunity - February 8 and 9
S. Mary's has arranged a unique opportunity for professional training. All ages and churches are welcome to join us as we blur the lines between teacher and student. You will experience and learn Godly Play stories in a collegial, prayerful setting. Godly Play Foundation’s talented Trainers will deepen your understanding of children’s spirituality while guiding you on a personal journey of wonder. By exploring the fundamental foundations of a Godly Play classroom with us at an accredited training event, you will improve your teaching skills, learn how to build a classroom of your own, and leave spiritually refreshed. February 8 (5:00-9:00pm, dinner included) and February 9 (8:30am-5:00pm, lunch and snacks included). Please contact Julie Morrison at jmorrison500@yahoo.com for more information.
Legacy Project - The Final Construction Push Begins!
We again ask for your patience as Ledgewood juggles work from room to room to put finishing touches on. But completion nears! The first "punch-list" walk through is scheduled for January 30! If you notice anything seriously amiss in finished rooms, please point it out to Dick Miller or Jennifer Gregg before that date!
In the meantime, the Auditorium will be unavailable to us for the next two weeks as acoustical tiles are placed, work that was deferred from this last week.
The radiant heating system and concrete overlay have been placed/poured; please do not walk in the Chapel until further notice.
Work in the kitchen is largely finished and it is ours!
Work will continue in the Guild Room. Pardon our dust!
More insulation to come; more flooring downstairs; more work in the Youth Room, more painting, more finishing work. It’s all so exciting!
