Two Saint Mary’s Episcopal Teens are traveling with Falmouth High School for a student exchange with a high school in Beijing, China. Blair Lindberg and Sé Ferrell are raising funds for their expenses by hosting a Pre- Valentine’s Day (or pre-Mother’s Day) Sale on February 3rd during both coffee hours. Godly Play Training Opportunity - February 8 and 9
S. Mary's has arranged a unique opportunity for professional training. All ages and churches are welcome to join us as we blur the lines between teacher and student. You will experience and learn Godly Play stories in a collegial, prayerful setting. Godly Play Foundation’s talented Trainers will deepen your understanding of children’s spirituality while guiding you on a personal journey of wonder. By exploring the fundamental foundations of a Godly Play classroom with us at an accredited training event, you will improve your teaching skills, learn how to build a classroom of your own, and leave spiritually refreshed. February 8 (5:00-9:00pm, dinner included) and February 9 (8:30am-5:00pm, lunch and snacks included). Please contact Julie Morrison at GuidingRAY@smary.org for more information.
Offering Envelopes for 2013 - Can be found in the Guild Room
Our Stewardship Campaign in 2013 will take place during Lent, but offering envelopes for the entire year are available to those who have used them previously or those who have requested them. If you would like to have the parish provide you with offering envelopes, you may sign-up for these in the Parish House or in the Narthex of the church or call the parish office.
Stewardship
Please be on the lookout for a letter to all parishioners seeking financial commitment to this parish. Your contributions enable faith in our Risen Lord. Yes, these contributions heat the church, parish house and rectory. They keep the lights on; they pay salaries. The church provides a blessed home to hear the Word of God; to share in the Lord's Supper; to hear the hymns of earthly angels. The parish house provides the home to serve others through the auditorium for Souper Suppers, 12 step groups, and community outreach; the new rooms to teach our children the love of God; the new chapel to provide a more intimate space for worship. The rectory provides a warm home for our new rector and his family, to teach us, and to learn from us. All of this so that we can do great works in the name of the Lord! Your contributions make this parish a home to so many! Thank you for your prayerful consideration and your contributions!
Ash Wednesday, February 13, 2013
Lent begins on February 13th with Ash Wednesday services. Lent is marked by prayer, fasting, self-denial, self-examination, and repentance, and by reading and meditating on God's Holy Word. Ash Wednesday will be scheduled as follows:
7:00-9:00 am: Ashes to Go. On Route 1, ashes will be made available to commuters and all passersby. Feel free to stop by and support this work of evangelism.
12noon: Holy Eucharist with the Imposition of Ashes
4:00 pm: Children’s Ash Wednesday Liturgy. It will be less than an hour long and will include an imposition of ashes, but no Eucharist. All ages are welcome.
7:00pm: Holy Eucharist with choir and the Imposition of Ashes
Bring in your palms…
…last year’s palms from Palm Sunday, that is. During the 4pm Children’s Ash Wednesday service on February 13th, we’ll burn the palms that have been brought in; the ashes will be used during our Ash Wednesday evening liturgy.

Legacy Project - Preparing for The Move
Beautiful acoustical panels were successfully installed this week in the Auditorium; some work remains to be done (e.g., sprinklers) but this beautiful room is now fully available to us. We look forward to the return of the piano to the auditorium and welcoming all of our community partners back for their programs during this coming week.
Elsewhere, work continues at a feverish pace, as Ledgewood strives to complete its job by the time its contract ends on February 22! We are anticipating the move of the furniture, files, etc out of the storage containers and out of the Rectory garage beginning Saturday, February 23rd. Please mark your calendars! In addition to the "Hunks o' S. Mary's" we can use all available hands to dust, clean and organize as we bring all the "treasures" back into the Parish House. All hands on deck!
Men’s Overnight Snowshoe Adventure
Calling all Saint Mary’s men of all ages to join Nathan up in Carrabassett Valley for an adventure in the snow around the Bigelow range and Flagstaff Lake! Thursday evening (Feb. 28) to Saturday afternoon (March 2). Interested? Don’t be afraid! You can do it! Send him an e-mail at nathanferrell@smary.org .

Haiti Trip this Fall!!
If you want to help change the world, there will be a week-long HAITI TRIP in November to work in a school across the border from the Dominican Republic. See Becky Pride for details.
Youth Center Ministry needs you!
Jim Stoddard, Marian McCue, Bruce Fithian and Becky Pride had another joy-filled and fun time at the Long Creek Youth Center this past Thursday. Our 17 young men are so appreciative and polite. This is such a safe and rewarding ministry! Please consider joining us as a team member once a month for an hour and a half. We would be so grateful if you did so. We played bucket ball, bean bags, Life, Yahtzee, Connect Four, and just talked ... oh, and we ate lots of cookies and drank soda!! See any of us for more information.
Coffee Hour Hosts Needed
Consider hosting a coffee hour in the Guild Room following the service (either by yourself or with another family.) A feast is not needed – just a tidbit to enjoy with the coffee that is already made. FMI, contact Betsy Stoddard at 829-2026 by e-mail at jbstod@myfairpoint.net
